Which statistical test should I use?

A quick starting guide. Your design, sample and data always decide the final choice, so check it with your supervisor.

Independent t-test

For a numeric outcome in two separate groups, such as scores for two teaching methods.

  • Check roughly normal data and similar spread
  • Not normal or ordinal? Use the Mann-Whitney U test
  • Same people measured twice? Use a paired t-test
One-way ANOVA

For a numeric outcome across three or more groups, such as results at three hospitals.

  • Check normality and equal variances
  • Not normal? Use the Kruskal-Wallis test
  • A significant result needs a post-hoc test to see which groups differ
Pearson correlation

For the strength of a straight-line link between two numeric variables, such as study hours and marks.

  • Check the scatter plot looks roughly linear
  • Ordinal or skewed data? Use Spearman's correlation
  • Correlation alone does not show cause
Chi-square test

For an association between two categorical variables, such as gender and compliance (yes/no).

  • Expected counts in each cell should generally be 5 or more
  • Small counts? Use Fisher's exact test
  • Report an effect size such as Cramer's V

FAQ

Common questions

Will you write my thesis or assignment?

No. We coach, edit your own writing and explain the statistics. The work you submit must be yours.

Do you help reduce Turnitin or AI-detection scores?

No. We can teach you to paraphrase properly and cite correctly, which is the honest way to a clean report.

How quickly can you help?

It depends on scope. Message us your deadline and we will confirm what is realistic before you commit.

Is my data kept private?

Yes. Files, and any sensitive or institutional records, are handled confidentially.

How do I pay?

JazzCash, EasyPaisa, SadaPay, NayaPay, bank transfer or Western Union.

Which tools and citation styles do you support?

SPSS and SmartPLS for analysis, and APA, Harvard, Vancouver and IEEE for citations. Ask if you use something else.

Can you help with a journal paper?

Yes. We can review structure, reporting of methods and results, and your responses to reviewer comments.

I only have a few days. Is that enough?

Often yes for focused help such as editing a chapter or interpreting results. Message your deadline and we will tell you honestly.
